Reptile Garden
Reptile Garden by Ken R. Sheide

SITE HISTORY:

The Reptile Garden has occupied webspace since May of 1998 which is when I learned HTML. On this page is a history of changes that I started recording a year after making the site public.

2008 30 Jun Added 101 pictures to the galleries from trips to Columbia River Gorge, OR, Olympic National Park, WA, and Mount Rainier National Park, WA. Galleries now hold 1,024 pictures total.

31 May Added 25 pictures to the galleries from trips to Fort Storey, Norfolk Botanical Garden, Hampton National Cemetery, Fort Monroe, and Newport News Park, VA.

19 May Added 37 pictures to the galleries from trips to Jamestown, Norfolk Botanical Garden, Ft Walton Beach, and Great Dismal Swamp.

1 May Added 14 new pictures to the galleries.

9 Apr Added 112 (yes, one hundred twelve) new pictures to the galleries from my recent trips to Arizona and Florida. Because I now have 847 pictures in the galleries, I split them out from six into eight. That still leaves over 100 photographs in each gallery. Again, I think I could use a stock agency because, on top of the photographs here on my page, I have plenty of additional great shots in my files!

16 Mar Added 15 pictures to the galleries.

2008 16 Feb Added 42 pictures to the galleries. I moved recently and that is why it has taken a while for me to post an update.

2007 9 Dec Added 24 pictures to the galleries (678 total).

17 Nov Added 18 pictures to the galleries (654 total).

3 Nov Added 18 pictures to the galleries.

26 Oct Added 42 new pictures from my recent trip to Vermont. Total now 618.

10 Oct Added eight more pictures to the galleries. Also split them out from five into six galleries because I now have 576 total pictures posted and each gallery was getting too large. Even with six, they are still pretty full of images (96 each). Darn, I sure could use a stock agency! :)

1 Oct Eight more pictures added to galleries. It's probably worth mentioning that I work Monday through Friday so only shoot on the weekends and occasionally in the evening.

18 Sep It's been a month since I did an update and I've been shooting pretty much every weekend so I removed nine mediocre pictures but added 79 new ones. Yes, I said 79! Galleries now have 560 of my photographs in them.

17 Aug Added 20 pictures to the galleries taken in the past three weeks.

27 Jul Added 20 pictures to the galleries all taken in the last month.

5 Jul Added 11 pictures to the galleries. 450 total photographs now there. Also made slight changes to text on Other Equipment and Ethics pages.

23 Jun Added 11 pictures to the galleries and split them out from four into five to make room for more pictures.

13 Jun Fixed left menu to take less space and be a flyout. This should work fine on version 5+ browsers. Sorry, but I'm abandoning v4 browsers because I doubt anyone is still using them (upgrade if so). Thanks again to Stu Nicholls and his mastery of CSS for making the menu system possible. He implements and shares things that I wouldn't even dream were possible to implement using CSS with no help from JavaScript!

11 Jun I'd been using the same user interface (Metal) since 2000 so spent this weekend creating a new one and porting the site over to it. The big improvement, and something I've wanted to do for years, is that the navigation pane on the left is always available no matter where you are on the site. Big thanks go out to Stu Nicholls at http://www.cssplay.co.uk and his mastery of Cascading Style Sheets for making this possible. I just hope it works in a wide variety of browsers (tested in IE6 and Firefox)! By the way, I call this new interface Candy. If you want to see Metal, just click on the name. The interface components are there so you can see how the site looked but the content links aren't. If you have any suggestions or constructive criticism, please e-mail me to let me know! Also added two new pictures to photo galleries.

28 May Added 14 pictures taken over the last weekend to galleries.

15 May Added 20 pictures taken over last weekend to galleries. Updated Lens page with information on TS-E 24mm f/3.5L and 500mm f/4L IS lenses.

8 May Deleted 39 photographs from the galleries but added nine. Total now 393. (I'm trying to keep it under 100 per gallery and that is why I delete them occasionally.)

23 Apr Eight more shots put in galleries. Wife not around so spending most of my free time taking pictures!

8 Apr Instead of going out to shoot this morning, I went through and killed 32 decent pictures in the galleries and added 23 more. Total now is 415.

26 Mar Six more shots added to the galleries.

22 Mar Instead of spending this last week of vacation studying for a promotion test as I had planned, I spent it doing what I love; walking around outside enjoying and photographing the beauty of nature. Nine of the pictures I captured have been added to the galleries.

17 Mar Added 39 pictures from my recent trip to Washington State. Total present is now 409.

23 Feb Removed 17 mediocre pictures from the galleries and added 16. Total present is now 370.

13 Feb Added 13 pictures to the galleries and updated the English page.

2007 13 Jan Updated text on most of the photography pages. Updated view and description of what I carry in my photo bag on the Other Equipment page. Included information on Nikon LS-50 scanner and Canon 30D.

2006 19 Dec Added 17 more photos to the galleries.

29 Oct I'm back so added three recent pictures to the galleries.

15 May Since I'll be gone and make no updates for nearly five months, I added 16 more pictures taken in the last week.

10 May Ten more pictures to galleries.

1 May Added 10 new pictures to the galleries.

26 Apr Removed 44 photos from the galleries to make room for 52 new ones.

2006 20 Feb Added seven photos to the galleries.

2005 24 Dec Added six photos to the galleries and two computer-generated images to the Computer 2D Art page.

2 Oct Added 20 photos to the galleries from my last few months of travels. I'm now living in Virginia and somewhat settled into the area.

10 Jun Added six photos to the galleries. Without a doubt, this will be the last update for the next few months because my computers will be shipped and Internet connection disabled in the next week.

24 May Oops! Added three more photos to the galleries.

21 May Added eight photos to the photo galleries. This will probably be the last update for a few months due to my upcoming move from Germany to Virginia.

5 May Added four images to the 2D Artwork page.

24 Apr Removed 30 good (but not great) photos from the photography galleries & added nine new ones.

28 Mar Added photo to galleries, art to 2D art page, and item to For Sale Page. Updated Canon EOS, English, and Windows Tips pages.

2005 15 Feb Added photos to the galleries and new items to the For Sale page.

2004 24 Dec Three more photos added to the galleries.

4 Dec Added 6 photos to the galleries and more items to the For Sale page.

27 Oct Added 24 photos from Norway to the galleries, information about deceptive mutual funds to Accounting page, and some new experiences to the Uru page after having played the first expansion set.

27 Sep Five photos added to the galleries.

6 Sep Ten more pictures added to photo galleries & updated a few pages.

22 Aug Added quite a few more photos to galleries.

18 Jun Added 6 more photos to galleries.

4 Jun Added 6 photos to galleries and updated text on Ethics page.

21 May Designed and wrote a compound interest calculator and put it on the Accounting page.

6 Mar Added information on the game of Uru and a few items to the For Sale page.

11 Jan Added information and pictures illustrating the result of my cleaning of a Nikon LS-30 scanner. Also updated Other Equipment page and wrote information on Arca-Swiss B1, Wimberley lens plates, and Kirk L-brackets.

2004 3 Jan: Happy New Year! I added some information on the D60, new Nikon scanners, more items to the For Sale page, and more pictures to the galleries.

2003 21 Dec: Added 6 more pictures to the galleries and digital bodies to EOS page.

30 Nov: Added more pictures to the galleries and text to the photography pages. Also split the first equipment page into two; one for camera bodies and one for lenses.

27 Oct: Added the first digital nature pictures to the galleries. All were taken with the used Canon D60 I recently purchased. Also added 6 new film images.

22 Oct: Created and added Dollar Cost Averaging page. Read it and learn how to save for your future!

16 Aug: Removed 33 of my least favorite pictures but added 23 new ones to the photo galleries. I have also started naming the pictures according to the number of the slide in my files.

4 Jul: Added items to the For Sale page.

14 Jun: Added 4 new pictures to photo galleries.

24 May: Added six new pictures to the photo galleries and updated information on the Ethics and Equipment photo pages.

17 May: Added more homonyms to the English page, filled in some missing information on the Canon EOS page, and removed some things from the For Sale page which I recently sold.

16 Apr: Added some homonyms to the English page, fixed some pages and my style sheet so the site looks normal in IE6, and decreased the size of the .JPG compression image on the Ethics page (again, to improve the site layout).

12 Apr: Added 500mm f/4.5L lens to Equipment page, updated Windows Tips page with new hardware information, and added film/camera abbreviations to Photo page.

30 Mar: Updated text on Photography Ethics page to include information on .JPG compression used with gallery images.

24 Mar: Added new Canon EF 17-40mm f/4 L lens to EOS page and redid CSS/HTML along with colors to make the site content more consistent across all pages.

16 Mar: Added 8 new pictures to the galleries. Removed 12 mediocre pictures to cut down on total size and volume.

9 Mar: More stuff added to For Sale page and a description/pictures of what and how I pack my gear into the field added to the Other Equipment page.

1 Mar: Added some software, a Magic Lantern Elan II Guide, and Tiffen 77mm UV filter to the For Sale page. Also made a few minor interface changes to the site and added a list of common Windows keyboard shortcuts to the Windows Tips page.

25 Feb: Put Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 EX APO HSM lens, Sigma 1.4X and 2X EX APO Teleconverters, Promaster 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 lens, and Bogen hex mounting plate on the For Sale page and simplified its layout.

17 Feb: Updated text and added new information on the Photography Bodies & Lenses page.

2003 18 Jan: Added pictures GreatTree, AltschlossSun2, KarlstalMist, FrozenSurface, and WinterKettle to the galleries. Made small change to JavaScript so it could handle the display of more types of images which had the effect of making my HTML slightly larger. Split camera equipment page into two and added information on the EOS 3 and Elan 7 cameras as well as on places to buy and not to buy equipment. Added pictures of and links to my camera custom function guides.

2002 29 Dec: Added Teleconverter information to a new, separate Photography Equipment page I created from the Main Photography page. Also made a Top button at the bottom right of each page to ease navigation of the site along with a few minor tweaks.

9 Dec: Updated main photography page text & added new 28-135mm lens information.

2 Dec: Added some photo gear to the For Sale page.

29 Nov: Put pictures TreeAndMoon, DahnRock, AutumnMoss, and RotaTwilightChurch in the galleries.

18 Oct: Added info on 17-35mm f/2.8L lens & updated text to Photography page. Updated Canon EOS page by filling in blanks, adding weight stats, and adding new lenses and camera.

4 Oct: Added pictures BlueButterfly, DahnOverlook, EttalMonastery, LinderhofBedroom, NeuschwansteinSecret, and Wieskirche to the galleries.

21 Sep: Updated text on various pages.

12 Sep: Redid the galleries on a friend's suggestion so that pictures are in chronological instead of alphabetical order. This way, if you've visited before, you can see new pictures in the last gallery and don't have to go through all galleries looking for them. Also fixed an HTML problem on some of the pages that made some browsers display the pages wrong (thanks Martin)!

10 Sep: Put in a link to the extra computer hardware & software I'm selling (buy it). Also added pictures BristlyBloom, DewedButterflyBulb, GlowingField, Grasshopper, SunningSkink, SupportStrands, UberDahn, YellowBandedCaterpillar, YellowCone, and YellowOnBlue to the galleries.

1 Sep: Added a random, dynamic Javascript Calendar which features one of my photographs. It is just perfect for printing don't you agree?

24 Aug: Added more registry patches to the Windows Tips page. Also added a random saying at the bottom of each page and another Javascript trick I won't mention but will let people find on their own (it coincides with the random saying). Finally, added my modified Serious Sam Secret Guide.

29 Jul: Lots. Added EtherealFlowers and RedSponge to the Computer Gallery. Modified the site interface so you can now access all pages from the left navigation bar on each page and in the process got rid of the JavaScript rollover images (they are replaced by Style Sheet definitions). Rewrote all of the HTML and page texts resulting in smaller HTML files. Added JavaScripted interface functionality to the large images on the Computer Gallery (2D) and 3D Art pages. I had to modify the pages and my scripts to do it but now the entire site opens a half size preview window when you click on the artwork and photographs. This is something I've wanted to do for months but finally sat down and implemented. Scripts are your friend!

20 Jul: Went through and edited 50 pictures from the galleries to make room for more. If you see a picture listed as added on this page that you cannot find in the galleries it's because the picture's been edited out. Added pictures DewedGrass, FoxgloveClearing, and MoistPlant. Added text to Photography and English pages.

9 Jul: Updated my computer hardware so changed the Windows Tips page hardware information. Also rewrote or expanded on some of the tips.

4 Jul: Added pics HairyVetchBlooms, LoneBlossom, and PrairieClover to the galleries. Also updated the English and Links pages.

1 Jul: Added pics DamesRocket, FernFlames, FlowerFly, OtterFelsenView, SerenePond, and WetWeb to the galleries.

28 Jun: Added pics CaterpillarInLupine, LadybugAndAphids, LupineRainTrap, OliveStinkBug, and WildLupineAndDaisies to the galleries.

19 Jun: Added pics DewOnGrass, GersbachFalls1, GersbachFalls2, MittelhammerFalls, MittelhammerOverlook, and PondReflection to the galleries. I now have 163 pictures in them so soon will do some more editing to lower that number.

15 Jun: Removed For Sale Photography items because I sold everything on E-Bay.

4 Jun: Added pictures BurgEhrenfels, BurgKatzStGoarshausen, ForestForTrees, KarlstalRunoff, LoreleyRock, NansteinColumns, TribergCascade2, & VogtsbauernhofWindow to the galleries.

4 May: Updated links page and text on various pages.

22 Apr: Added Altschlossfelsen1, Altschlossfelsen2, ForestOutcropping, and LakeFrog to the photo galleries.

10 Mar: Added BlownFuse, EveningReflection, LeafDroplets, SnowLaden, and Utensils to the photo galleries.

19 Jan: Made and added Kanji, AngraSidewalk, MiniMoss, and RedMoss to Computer Art page. Also updated JavaScript interface to the tiles on it which allowed me to delete all the static webpages I previously made for each tile.

2002 7 Jan: Created a page about an interesting Accounting Dilemma I discovered while attempting to compute my stock portfolio's performance. Happy New Year!

2001 11 Dec: I finally updated the interface to the photo galleries six months after I had the idea to do it (see 01 Jun 01 entry). Now each thumbnail image opens up a half-size picture in another display window. The only problem I have to sort out is that Netscape (what else?) strips out the JavaScript that I write to the display window. This has the nasty effect of making the resize buttons not work. When I come up with a workaround I'll update everything but, until then, Netscape users will only be able to view the images at half-size. All suggestions and ideas on how to fix this problem or further improve the interface are welcome.

2 Dec: I just got through with editing the galleries and removing what I felt were 50 images that didn't deserve to be there. I also added a lens to the EOS page and images CapCrevasses, FingersOfDeath, HauntingMoon, and KarlstahlFall to the newly edited galleries.

14 Oct: Reworded/added text to Photography page and added two new lenses to Canon EOS info page.

21 Sep: Added an English page that outlines some of the common mistakes people make in written English that drive me crazy. I also have added the old Arcade interface back so visitors can see what one of my previous interfaces looked like. The files aren't back but you can browse the interface to see what this site looked like until 25 Nov 2000.

16 Sep: Added pictures Arch2, HiddenDenizen, InsideArch, and KarlstahlCrossing to the galleries.

9 Sep: Updated the Canon EOS information to bring it up to date and fill in some of the previously unknown data.

31 Aug: Added a new lens to the Photography page. I also made quick-links at the bottom of each page to all internal web pages or series'. The quick-links make browsing the site quicker and easier. That space was being wasted before anyway! I'm back in school, in addition to work, so I won't be making updates as frequently. I also found out why I was getting so few unique users. After my 17 Jun changes the number jumped from 2 up to about 20 per day! After thinking about it I realized that most people were linking directly to specific pages and were thus skipping the homepage (which is what tracks visitors). My 17 Jun changes force visitors to go through the homepage and thus track their visits. At first I thought this may be annoying to some but I haven't received any complaints and hope that people realize that, this way, they are better able to see the entire site as intended.

17 Jun: I consolidated quite a few web pages into common folders, all the JavaScript, and all Style Sheets. Along with this I changed the colors and fixed a few errors in the HTML files that I found. Basically I streamlined the entire site's organization to make it easier for me to change & update in the future. I also created a new Photography Ethics webpage. Now I just need to come up with some more interesting content or better advertise the site to increase that 2 unique users per day average. Perhaps a bonsaikitty2.com, a new www.iloveyouikissyou.com, or yet another porn site? I know; I'll write a JavaScript that takes a picture of a monkey!

2001 1 Jun: Damn! I can't believe it's been six months to the day since I posted an update to these pages! A lot has happened in that time. First, I moved from Terceira Island in the Portuguese Azores to Germany. Second, Glandrake.com went down for a while again while Cha0s looked for an affordable ISP (but it's back up now because if it wasn't you wouldn't be reading this). I also found out Xoom.com is no more so I don't have to worry about people getting here through that ancient version of my site! I've spent the last few months taking pictures, scanning those pictures, re-scanning old pictures to improve the digital files I had originally made (I know my software better now), adding them to the galleries, and, of course, getting settled here in Germany. Be sure to check out my new Personal Experiences series of webpages that examine errors I made while composing images and my thoughts while I was creating them. I've made so many changes to the photography galleries that I leave it to previous visitors to go through them again and see what's changed. I'm considering making the links to the large versions of the pictures open up a new browser window specifically for displaying images. I may tweak the user interface in other ways as well since I do so enjoy doing that. I may also expand the Real Myst webpage to include Myst, Riven, and Exile(a game I just finished and loved as much as the first two) thoughts and information. Well, as always, stay informed with changes and additions to the site on this page. Enjoy!

2000 1 Dec: I added a webpage devoted to the game Real Myst, which I just completed. Check it out!

25 Nov: If you've been to my pages before, you've noticed the change. I got rid of what I call the Arcade interface and replaced it with a new one I call Metal that no longer uses frames. The last time I changed the interface was on 12 Sep 99, so the pages were due for an overhaul. The new interface has a few, hidden, things so you may be surprised if you move the mouse around on the pages. Hope you like it!

21 Nov: Just did some maintenance to re-organize data on the server and changed/updated the text on quite a few pages.

16 Oct: Added pictures BambooRoof, CastleCourtyard, CastleWindow, ChurchFront, FatPuffer, and RotaCactus to the galleries(now 128 pictures total). I also added a few links to the link page.

15 Sep: Added pictures MiniTree, MudFormation, PastureTwins, PraiaFest1, PraiaFest2, StalkField, and TidalWash to the galleries.

29 Jul: Added pictures Bullfight, Hydrangea, PondGrass, Rainbodies, Thunderbird1, and Thunderbird2 to the galleries.

9 Jul: Added pictures BlueRush, FernMouth, METNAVTower, PostSunrise, PurpleDew, and RedClouds to the galleries and updated text on the main photography page.

20 May: Added my second Winamp skin, Cool, as well as links to all miscellaneous files on the site to the Other Stuff page. As noted on the main page, I am no longer going to maintain the mirror of the site at Xoom because it is just too much work.

27 Apr: Updated the text of the photography, Other Stuff, and Windows Tips pages. Added my Winamp skin (Chrome) to Other Stuff page.

3 Apr: I redid all the galleries and took out what I consider to be a lot of moderate quality images. I still have over 100 images available, they are just 100 of my best (as opposed to 200+ of my best). I additionally added new images AzoreanRainShower, BlackLake, GoldenTree, LostBridge, OceanSun, XmasPraia1, and XmasPraia2.

2000 9 Mar: Glandrake.com is back up, so I'll be updating the site there from now on. I'll keep the mirror at Xoom.com (no I won't, see 20 May 00 entry), as promised, but for the latest updates go to www.rgarden.glandrake.com.

1999 29 Dec: Updated the links page(some have changed/been removed), removed the wave file webpage (no one was using it), updated my age on Other Stuff page(I just tacked on another year), and added just-received slides GoatPond, JorgeCreps, MistedWave, PicoJorge, PraiaBeach, PraiaRidge1, PraiaRidge2, StoneWall, SulphurMist, VaporTrail, and WaveFunnel to the galleries. Yes, I did replace the old PraiaRidge pictures, but I personally thought they stank. The new ones are a bit better. I also got rid of the old interface(see 12 Sep entry).

9 Dec: Made HOMM3 Grail/Artifact page and added MP-E 65mm/2.8 lens to Canon EOS page.

15 Nov: Added gallery photos Biscoitos01, Biscoitos02, Biscoitos03, PinkPetals, RockySky, and SeaStorm. If you haven't noticed, I also scripted out Xoom's annoying frame (but thanks for the webspace). Glandrake.com is currently looking for a new, inexpensive connection to the net, so the Reptile Garden will only be found at Xoom for a while.

2 Nov: Changed the text on the photography page and made a mirror site at Xoom due to Glandrake being down. Everything is now at both sites except the wave files (only at Glandrake). Visit the site now at either www.rgarden.glandrake.com or members.xoom.com/RGarden (no longer in use as detailed in 20 May 00 entry).

8 Oct: Added gallery photos ChurchCourtyard, Lighthouse, LogCliff, MorningSky, OrangeBeetle, RoofTile, and SixAM just scanned from new slides. I also added Lichen, an older image, to Gallery 2. I'm getting business cards made too, so I added my layout for them to the Computer Art page so everyone can see it.

30 Sep: I went through my box of old photographs, and found a gem I'd missed before. It's now added to Gallery 3 and is called WhispyCauldron.

24-26 Sep: Made a new page showing examples from Paint Shop Pro 6. I also added the DewFlower image to Gallery 1, and made a few new tiles for the Computer Art page.

20 Sep: The URL has changed again, this time to http://www.rgarden.glandrake.com. Thanks to Cha0s at www.glandrake.com for providing the advertisement free webspace! I also inadvertently left out the ACCESSKEY (see 01 Aug entry) attributes with the 12 Sep change, but they're back in. You still need to have the navigation frame active for them to work, however.

12 Sep: Made some new graphics (yes AGAIN) for the interface. I also decided to use evil FRAMES, since the pages will navigate faster this way (the interface will not have to reload on every page and instead can sit loaded in the top frame). The navigation frame now has less image data(32K) and looks better (in my opinion) so this change worked out well. If for some reason you miss my first JavaScripted interface, I left it intact and you can find it here(dead link as of 29 Dec 99).

18 Aug: I was right about Netscape not supporting onMouseOver in an IMG tag (see 04 Aug entry), but found that it does work in an ANCHOR tag. By simply cutting and pasting a few things, I now have the mouse rollovers on the homepage working in Netscape as well (pretty sad that it took me two weeks to think of this). This is a good example of how Document Object Module support differences can be annoying. Unfortunately, the small font syndrome is still present, and I blame Netscape's interpretation of Style Sheets. Something else I've done is used Style Sheets to color the TEXTAREA on the Homepage. Of course this doesn't show up or have any effect in Netscape Navigator, so I'm still looking for a better implementation.

15 Aug: Changed the wording on and added some images to both the Bryce Art and the Computer Art pages.

9 Aug: The URL has changed, so be sure to update your bookmarks or records (if you have any for this site). I have also updated the HTML on all pages to HTML 4 strict specifications. Some items look weird in Netscape 4 because of this (especially the top link bar; it's tiny)! To fix the "small font syndrome" of Netscape, just hit CTRL-] twice to increase the font size. Hopefully Netscape will soon update their browser to be more compatible with the HTML 4 standard and Style Sheets.

4 Aug: Once again, I've completely redone the graphics and HTML. I'm sure you'll find the new look to be an improvement. I've also added JavaScript rollovers and some other effects. For some reason, they don't seem to work in Netscape Navigator, though. If you know why, I'd appreciate your telling me (I think it may be that Navigator doesn't support onMouseOver in an IMG tag, but I'm not sure)! I also plan on changing the TEXTAREA on the main page where page descriptions show up so that it doesn't stand out so much. Right now, I think it's ugly (white doesn't fit in with the other graphics), but it's the only way I could implement what I wanted done. When I learn more about JavaScript and come up with a better implementation for this feature, I'll change it.

1 Aug: I've started learning JavaScript so I can make this site interactive and fun. To see my very first script, using rollovers, follow this link and move the mouse over the text. I know it's basic and stupid, but the best way to learn is by practice and application! I got books, too. What this means is that I can now put tricks into the site that I wasn't aware of before. If you're using Internet Explorer (this doesn't work with Navigator because it doesn't support the ACCESSKEY attribute), try hitting ALT(PC)/Command(MAC), along with the first digit of the page's name you want to link to (h,p,1,2,3,c,g,b,w,l,o). It works just as if you'd clicked on a Hyperlink (1, 2, & 3 link to the photo galleries)! You must have my webpage's frame active for this to work, too(the annoying Xoom frame strikes again).

31 Jul: I've noticed that sometimes my images don't load, and instead show the ugly red "X". I think this is due to a problem from either Xoom's webserver or the Proxy server I use to gain web access. I assure you all links are good, however, so if an image doesn't load, right click it and choose the 'View Image/Show Picture' option to view it (in most PC browsers).

17 Jul: The HTML and graphics were completely rehauled. Each page is now less complex and has smaller (in K) graphics files, so should load faster than before. I've added a few more photos to the galleries with this update as well. Xoom apparently got rid of the size limit for web pages, so I'm additionally breaking the old 10 meg limit and moving the wave files over to this site. There are now over 21 megs of information available on this website (half of which is wave files which may soon be removed unless someone requests my leaving them here).

10 Jun: I just bought a Nikon LS-30 slide/negative scanner, so I completely re-scanned and re-built the photography pages. I had to remove some of my old photos to make room, however, since I only have 10 megs of webspace available. There are close to 100 pictures available now, though, so enjoy browsing through them!

1999 15 May: Xoom added an annoying frame to the web pages last month, so I removed the reference to them from my webpage (since it would now be very redundant). If you want to see who hosts this webpage, check out their links in the frame at the top of my pages. If you don't see this frame but would like to, access the pages by their redirected URL, http://members.xoom.com/RGarden, and not by their direct URL, http://members.xoom.com/_XOOM/RGarden/index.html.
